PaYS was developed to provide American youth with the opportunity to simultaneously serve their country and prepare for a future career outside of the Army, according to a news release. Soldiers sign up for PaYS as part of the enlistment process, identifying organizations with jobs that align with their skills and interests. The companies guarantee an interview and possible employment to PaYS soldiers once they complete their military service.
“Cheyenne Regional Medical Center currently employs several members of the Reserve and National Guard in addition to many men and women who have retired from active service,” said Margo Karsten, CEO at CRMC, in a news release. “This strategic partnership is an extension of our commitment to support our military service members by providing them with quality employment opportunities.”
As part of the agreement, enlistees interested in gaining specific job skills will receive that training while in the Army. Recruits will sign a statement of intent to work for CRMC upon completion of their term of service or completion of their military training.
As they near the end of their enlistments, the soldiers will be able to interview with CRMC. Hospital jobs will be added to the Army’s PaYS database in the near future.
