Cerner opens new employee health center in Kansas: 6 things to know

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, in collaboration with Cerner and the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, recently opened the Road to Wellness Health Center.

Here are six things to know.

1. The center includes 5,000 square feet of space intended to provide healthcare and wellness services to employees and families under UG’s new Road to Wellness program, according to a news release.

2. Cerner will help manage the center. The company’s involvement will include primary care, health education through coaching, and prevention and wellness screening services, according to the release.

3. The health program launched in October 2015 with the availability of wellness screenings and health coaching services, which Cerner offered for UG employees.

4. As part of the program, members may interact with their providers, review their medical records and schedule appointments using Cerner’s online portal, according to the release.

5. In addition to wellness services, the health center offers programming that includes preventive care measures such as vaccinations, education and coaching on smoking cessation and preventive blood pressure screenings, as well as skin cancer screenings.

6. The Road to Wellness Health Center is the eighth on-site health center opened by Cerner in the Kansas City metropolitan area and one of more than 40 operated by Cerner throughout the U.S.
