The relocation will affect employees in CCHC’s finance department and marketing and strategy divisions. The finance department is currently in Independence Park in another area of Hyannis, and the marketing and strategy divisions are currently located across from Cape Cod Hospital. As part of the relocation, those areas will move to a three-story, 30,000-square-foot building adjacent to the current CCHC Physician Hospital Organization offices, according to the health system.
“We have long been committed to the economic health of Hyannis and our community,” CCHC President and CEO Michael Lauf said in a prepared statement. “In recent years, we have taken steps to improve and beautify our hospital campus and other facilities in Hyannis and throughout Cape Cod.”
CCHC plans to relocate the 225 jobs early next year. In the meantime, the organization said it has agreed to a long-term lease with building owner Stuart Bornstein and has started renovations on the building and surrounding area. Hospital officials said the entire building “will be renovated to best suit the work environment necessary for the three departments,” and the building will not only include office spaces, but also conference rooms, a cafeteria, improvements to exterior common areas and gated parking lots for employees.
With the relocation, CCHC ultimately aims to improve efficiencies.
“This initiative is a win-win for all: CCHC, the community and our employees,” Mr. Lauf said. “We will continue to look for ways to provide the latest and best healthcare in the latest and best facilities, as well as ways to improve the communities in which we do business.”
