Banner Health seeks to fill more than 1k positions

Phoenix-based Banner Health has more than 1,000 job openings across Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, Nebraska and California, the system confirmed in an email to Becker’s Hospital Review.

The openings include full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs.

“Because of our size, we are always recruiting for those positions including our more hard-to-fill jobs such as specialty nursing [and] physical and occupational therapy,” said Banner spokesperson David Lozano.

Banner recently restructured operations, which resulted in multiple rounds of layoffs this year. The layoffs included the system’s top public relations executive as well as leadership positions.

As of August 2017, Banner has roughly 49,000 current employees, down from more than 50,000 one year ago.

“We streamlined and reinvented our operations for better efficiency and customer focus in the past year. Many of the positions we are hiring are a direct effort to increase convenience and accessibility for consumers such as Banner Urgent Care, Banner Quick Care, Banner Health Centers and Clinics, and Banner Home Care,” Mr. Lozano said. “Also, we have seasonal needs in the winter, particularly in Arizona.”
