The award seeks to honor nurses by allowing family, friends and colleagues to relay the story of a nurse who has made a positive impact at a local or global level.
Ms. Johnson was nominated for the compassionate care she delivers to her patients. She believes it’s her responsibility to deliver care to veterans because of the sacrifices these individuals have made for the country.
“We had hundreds of deserving nurses honored through this program last year. However, the Laurene Elauria Johnson tribute spoke precisely to the purpose and intent of Honoring A Nurse,” said ANF Chair Tim Porter-O’Grady, EdD, in an emailed release. “We are thrilled to recognize her dedication to nursing and inspirational leadership.”
