WellStar pursues deal to buy 5 Georgia hospitals from Tenet

Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System is beginning negotiations to buy Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare’s five hospitals in Georgia, according to a Georgia Health News report.

In a joint statement, the two organizations said the potential sale “is to ensure that these hospitals and facilities are best positioned to meet the needs of their communities and continue delivering high-quality healthcare for many years to come.”

The following five Tenet hospitals are included in the potential deal: Atlanta Medical Center; Atlanta Medical Center-South Campus in East Point, Ga.; North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Ga.; Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin, Ga.; and Sylvan Grove Hospital in Jackson, Ga.
