In an attempt to find a partner, Ingalls Health System President and CEO Kurt Johnson sent letters to an undisclosed number of possible suitors, according to the report.

“The challenge is securing patients who are able to come to Ingalls in the future as insurance companies are looking to different contracting models, which tend to prefer larger healthcare systems,” Mr. Johnston told Crain’s Chicago Business.

Any potential partner for Ingalls Health System would have to have more lucrative contracts with insurers, the ability to help the hospital cut costs and a good reputation that allows the hospital to recruit physicians, Mr. Johnson told Crain’s Chicago Business.
