West Georgia Health signed a letter of intent to join WellStar last May, and the two organizations plan to sign a definitive agreement in March.

WellStar is also closing in on its acquisition of five hospitals owned by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. The organizations inked a definitive agreement last year.

According to an internal WellStar employee email obtained by Georgia Health News, the Federal Trade Commission has wrapped up its review of the acquisition. The email said WellStar expects that deal to close in April, according to Georgia Health News.
