With the acquisition, PinnacleHealth is now UPMC Pinnacle.

“We are pleased that the affiliation is complete, and we look forward to starting a new chapter of collaboration with UPMC,” UPMC Pinnacle President and CEO Philip Guarneschelli said. “Together, PinnacleHealth and UPMC will bring expanded healthcare services and advanced quality initiatives to patients across central Pennsylvania, allowing us to continue to provide high-value, nationally recognized care.”

Hospital officials said in a news release UPMC Pinnacle will be governed by a board comprising 12 volunteer business and community members designated by Pinnacle as well as six newly appointed members from UPMC. They added they don’t anticipate any changes regarding patients’ care and insurance coverage as a result of the affiliation.

UPMC finalized a definitive agreement to acquire PinnacleHealth in July.
