UPMC, Butler Health ink OB-GYN joint venture agreement

Pittsburgh-based UPMC and Butler (Pa.) Health System entered into a joint venture to acquire Advanced OB/GYN Associates, a five-physician practice also in Butler, according to a TribLive report.

Advanced OB/GYN Associates will retain its brand and maintain its existing locations across Pennsylvania.

The practice will accept UPMC-supported insurance plans and all plans currently accepted by Butler Health System.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
