GMH, a 25-bed, public-owned critical access hospital, has had a management agreement with UnityPoint Health – Finley Hospital for the past 15 years. The new agreement, which would make GMH part of UnityPoint, will align the two hospitals closer with an emphasis on population health management and cost efficiencies.
Both parties will now undergo due diligence before reaching a definitive agreement. Because GMH is a municipal hospital, officials said they expect the process will take “several months” to receive all applicable governmental approval.
