St. Luke’s President and CEO Dan Wakeman said candidates for merger are seven-hospital Mercy Health Partners or seven-hospital ProMedica Health System.
The solo institution, shut out of some key insurance contracts, was the only Toledo-area hospital with a 2008 operating loss, at $8.8 million, and losses are expected to be higher this year.
