1. Ohio county votes to close century-old hospital
Voters in an Ohio suburb just outside of Cleveland in Cuyahoga County voted yesterday to shutter Lakewood (Ohio) Hospital and replace it with a Cleveland Clinic family health center and emergency department.

2. CHS to sell 17 hospitals to drive down debt
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems is in talks to sell hospitals and other assets to help trim its debt load, said CHS CEO Wayne Smith.
