Allegiance Health Management plans to sell four Louisiana hospitals, and HCA Healthcare has closed the sale of 31 home health and hospice agencies. Here are three hospital M&A moves that Becker’s reported during the week of Oct. 5:

1. Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health is in the final stages of state reviews to convert to a nonprofit before an affiliate of the company acquires Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, Calif., from Phoenix-based Banner Health.

After that, the California attorney general’s office will finish its review of the sale. The ownership change is now expected March 31, 2027, pending regulatory approval. The sale was previously expected to close as early as December 2026.

2. Bossier City, La.-based Allegiance Health Management plans to divest four of its Louisiana hospitals: Minden (La.) Medical Center, Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, Acadian Medical Center in Eunice and Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte.

Allegiance said the divestitures are part of an effort to position each facility for long-term sustainability. The company did not name potential buyers or give a timeline, saying more details on new ownership and timing will come later.

3. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare closed its sale of 31 home health and hospice agencies across eight states to Cincinnati-based Deaconess Associations.

With the deal complete, the agencies and their employees join Central Pyramid, one of Deaconess’ four owned subsidiaries. Central Pyramid has nearly four decades of experience in home health and hospice care.
