State officials officially approved the agreement Oct. 7. The affiliation was announced last year.
According to the agreement, Albany Medical Center will serve as the active parent corporation to SaratogaHospital, which will remain a community hospital. Both hospitals will have representatives on the other hospital’s board. Patients will not see a change in the number of beds, services or employees at either facility, according to the article.
“Today’s approval is the next milestone in executing our working partnership,” said Angelo Calbone, president and CEO of Saratoga Hospital. “We have worked hard to establish a relationship mutually respectful of the strengths of each institution to continue to improve and grow the patient care services we provide to our communities.”
