Scott County Hospital Sale in Tennessee Fails

The 25-bed hospital, formerly known as St. Mary’s Hospital of Scott County, shut its doors last May after its contract with its previous operator, Mercy Health Partners, now Knoxville, Tenn.-based Tennova Healthcare, was allowed to expire after when Mercy was acquired by Naples, Fla.-based hospital chain Health Management Associates.

A meeting has been scheduled next Monday for county officials to regroup and plan for a new option for the shuttered hospital’s future.
