The partnership will provide JRMC with access to Epic’s integrated electronic health record system. The agreement enables JRMC, a 25-bed critical access hospital, to collect and access patient information more efficiently and to pursue federal incentives to implement EHRs, according to the release.
In addition, the partnership is the beginning of a plan for JRMC and Sanford Health to explore the possibility of offering the Jamestown region expanded services, including cancer care.
JRMC will remain an independent, community-owned hospital, according to the release.
