Here are three things to know about the potential partnership.

1. As part of the partnership, Salinas (Calif.) Valley Memorial Hospital would spend $4.6 million to acquire a 49 percent ownership stake in CHOMP (Montage’s) Aspire Health Plan — a Medicare Advantage-focused payer, Coastal Healthcare Administrators, a member enrollment and medical claims processor; and Community Health Innovations, a company focused on preventive medicine, according to the article.

2. Both entities believe the partnership would enhance patient and community health through a wide area of Monterey County.

3. The SVMHS board of directors is expected to address the deal at its meeting Friday, while the Montage board is set to consider the arrangement at its meeting Thursday, the report states.
