The affiliation would create a new joint management company to manage the entities’ respective clinical services as an integrated health system.
The company, which would have a CEO and small strategic team, would be responsible for integrating and managing the strategic, financial and clinical functions of OHSU’s and Salem Health’s clinical enterprises, according to officials. Salem Health and OHSU would keep their separate boards of directors and separate hospital licenses. Additionally, the organizations would retain authority over their labor, employment and regulatory activities. Employees would continue to work for their respective organizations.
