The ownership interest in those hospitals, and related outpatient services, has been sold to M/C Healthcare, effective April 1.

Through May 1, the hospitals will continue to be operated by M/C Healthcare until a definitive agreement can be completed for a safe and orderly transition to Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health, which recently signed a letter of intent relating to both facilities.

McLeod plans to operate Chesterfield General Hospital, and will transfer health services provided at Marlboro Park Hospital to Cheraw, according to a SCNow report.
