The institutions submitted the application to the attorney general’s office June 11. The state’s Hospital Conversions Act specifies that the attorney general has 90 days to review an application once it’s been submitted for review.

“This is the second time in three years my office has reviewed a sale of Westerly Hospital, which I believe is representative of the continuing shift in the health care landscape from stand-alone community hospitals to larger health care networks,” said Attorney General Peter Kilmartin.
