Under the agreement, Providence St. Joseph will contract exclusively with the hospital to provide acute care and outpatient clinical services to residents in San Gabriel Valley. Huntington Hospital will remain independent with its own governance and operating structures.
Providence St. Joseph was the result of a July 2016 merger between Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services and Eureka, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health.
“Achieving our vision of creating community wellbeing through world-class healthcare means choosing partners who reflect our commitment to excellence and Providence St. Joseph Health is nationally recognized for quality outcomes and patient safety,” said Stephen Ralph, president and CEO of Huntington Hospital.
