Pleasant Valley, Cabell Huntington Hospitals Strike Joint Management Agreement

Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital and Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, W.Va., have entered into a joint management services agreement.

The Pleasant Valley board approved the agreement Nov. 18, and the CHH board approved it Tuesday, according to a news release. The agreement officially took effect yesterday.

Under the deal, a full-time CEO — who will also serve as a member of the CHH executive team — will be named for Pleasant Valley in the first quarter of 2014, according to the release. Pleasant Valley will retain its name and continue as a full-service, separate hospital, with CHH providing physician recruitment and management assistance. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CHH and Pleasant Valley originally began exclusive discussions concerning a partnership in August. Pleasant Valley had been seeking to collaborate with another provider to help ensure quality of care for Point Pleasant and Mason County residents.
