PinnacleHealth, Hanover HealthCare Plus ink definitive agreement for strategic partnership

The boards of directors of Harrisburg, Pa.-based PinnacleHealth and Hanover (Pa.) HealthCare Plus signed a definitive agreement July 24 to form a strategic partnership.

Under the agreement, Hanover HealthCare Plus, including its physician network, various health facilities and Hanover (Pa.) Hospital, will become part of PinnacleHealth. Hanover employees in good standing will also become PinnacleHealth employees.

PinnacleHealth will commit to modernizing and expanding services at Hanover facilities as part of the agreement. Both organizations also agreed to establish a local charitable foundation.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval. Officials expect to complete the deal in September.

Once the transaction is completed, PinnacleHealth will become an eight-hospital system.
