Phelps Memorial Hospital Center to join North Shore-LIJ Health System

Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., has signed an agreement to become part of Great Neck, N.Y.-based North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.

Under the agreement, North Shore-LIJ will invest in expanding 238-bed Phelps Memorial’s clinical programs and improving the hospital’s infrastructure.

“We are committed to strengthening and expanding the clinical services that Phelps provides, ensuring that the hospital will continue to fulfill its mission as a full-service community hospital,” Michael Dowling, president and CEO of North Shore-LIJ.

The two organizations expect the signed agreement to receive all necessary regulatory approvals later this year.
