Below are six hospital transactions or partnerships that have been delayed or called off in the last two months, beginning with the most recent:

WVU Health System would likely take over operations at the financially strapped Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital after the 223-bed hospital finalizes a settlement agreement with the U.S. Justice Department, according to The Inter-Mountain.

County officials overseeing Ventura (Calif.) County Medical Center have ended months of partnership talks with Dignity Health after leaders from both parties deemed an affiliation too risky, according to a VC Star report.  

Tampa General Hospital and the University of South Florida announced July 23 that they're strengthening their affiliation by creating a new organization that will align their administrative and clinical practice areas. 

Carilion Clinic has completed its purchase of Lexington, Va.-based Stonewall Jackson Hospital, the Roanoke, Va.-based organization said July 24. 

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic has become the sole owner of a six-story healthcare clinic in London, according to The Post Bulletin.

Three for-profit hospital operators entered into several transactions in recent months. 

Wichita, Kan.-based Ascension Via Christi will assume operations of a hospital emergency department that closed abruptly this year, according to The Wichita Business Journal.

Clover Health is expanding its geographic footprint after seeing its Medicare Advantage plans' membership grow 37 percent last year. 

Yonkers, N.Y.-based St. John's Riverside Hospital said the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed its plan to join Montefiore Health System in New York City, according to LoHud.com.
