The termination of the contract comes after several weeks of failed negotiations between Capital Health and the insurer and will affect nearly 3,000 state employees who use the Helene Fuld hospital.
No further negotiations have been scheduled, but Gov. Jon Corzine has proposed nonbinding mediation for the two parties.
