Officials from both organizations announced the partnership Aug. 15. The pediatric wing will feature a pediatric intensive care unit and a staff of at least 35 healthcare professionals. It will also provide various inpatient services, such as general pediatrics, hematology and oncology.
The partnership will proceed in two phases. During the first phase, Nemours will begin providing subspecialty services at West Florida Healthcare outpatient clinics this fall. Officials have not determined when the second phase — which comprises the expansion of the pediatric wing — will begin or be completed, the report states.
