The “hospital within a hospital” will be located on the fifth floor of the medical center. Select Medical will own and operate the independent hospital, leasing the space from Missouri Baptist, and will provide its own staff.

Missouri Baptist and Select Medical officials said they expect the LTAC hospital to open during the first quarter of 2018, the report states.

Select Medical initially filed a certificate of need seeking approval for the hospital with the state of Missouri in 2014.
