Under the agreement, Cooper Clinic’s 28 practice locations will rebrand as Mercy Clinics. Most Cooper physicians agreed to integrate into the Mercy system, adding 48 physicians to Mercy’s existing team of 154 physicians. Mercy’s network will now have specialists in dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, occupational medicine and otorlaryngology, and Cooper physicians will now be able to access Mercy’s comprehensive EHR and patient portal.
“Cooper Clinic’s 97-year history of quality care is a strong fit with Mercy’s legacy of caring for patients in the River Valley since 1853,” Mercy Clinic Fort Smith President Cole Goodman, MD, said in a press release.
The two clinics will continue to consolidate business operations, but do not expect patient care to be disrupted.
