This is the second hospital CHS has divested this week. On Tuesday, CHS sold Highlands Regional Medical Center, a 126-bed hospital in Sebring, Fla., to Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
CHS divested the hospitals as part of a turnaround plan the company put into place last year, which involves selling off 30 hospitals to trim its debt load.
With the sale of Merit Health Northwest Mississippi completed, CHS continues to operate nine hospitals in Mississippi.
