Under the transaction, McKesson will acquire 470 Rexall retail pharmacies and significantly increase McKesson Canada’s size, purchasing power and portfolio in the Canadian market. McKesson is currently one of two major national pharmaceutical distributors in Canada.

McKesson plans to maintain the Rexall brand. The acquisition is expected to close later this year.
