The affiliation will allow BGH, a critical access hospital, to improve its performance and employee morale while remaining independent, BGH CEO Linda Deville said in a news release. Under the agreement, LGH and BGH leaders will correspond and consult each other on medical and technical issues.

LGH will work with the hospital to provide staff education and meet primary and specialty physician needs, according to the release.

Lafayette General Medical Center formed LGH earlier this year through its addition of University Hospital and Clinics in Lafayette.
