Lafayette General Health took over management of University Hospital and Clinics, formerly University Medical Center, from Baton Rouge-based Louisiana State University Health Care Services Division in June.
Lafayette General Health owns or manages five facilities and has affiliations with several more. As part of the formation of an official system, leadership changes were announced, with some leaders focusing on both hospital- and system-wide initiatives, according to the release. “The goal is to implement a core set of values and standards that permeate each facility within the system to offer consistent, compassionate service. The Lafayette General Health brand should be one the public associates with advanced medical treatments and excellence in patient care,” the release stated.
