Med Center shared plans to acquire the 75-bed acute care hospital in late May. It will now be called the Medical Center at Russellville, according to a July 1 news release shared with Becker’s.
“This acquisition aligns perfectly with that mission as we look to further enhance healthcare services for residents of Logan County and surrounding communities,” Connie Smith, Med Center Health president and CEO, said in the release.
Med Center Health is a nonprofit health system and comprises the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky., The Medical Center at Scottsville (Ky.), the Medical Center at Franklin (Ky.), the Medical Center at Caverna in Horse Cave, Ky., and the Medical Center at Albany (Ky.).
The system has over 3,500 employees and 150 employed providers.
