Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health has finalized its acquisition of Las Vegas-based Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging.
The outpatient radiology imaging company has 12 locations across the Las Vegas Valley, according to a Jan. 22 Intermountain news release. Care coordination integration will be introduced in phases over the next year.
SDMI has more than 550 affiliated or employed radiologists, technologists and staff who are trained in more than 2,000 procedures, ranging from screening mammograms to port placements for chemotherapy, according to the release.
“Intermountain Health’s expansion of imaging services through SDMI strengthens our capacity to support Las Vegas patients throughout their care journey,” said Scott Stevens, MD, chief medical officer for Intermountain’s Desert Region. “This comprehensive model of delivering high-quality, cost-effective imaging services in-house allows us to provide continuity of care with a seamless, person-centered approach.”
Intermountain currently offers care at more than 80 clinics in southern Nevada and is expected to break ground on the state’s first freestanding children’s hospital this year.
