Hospital officials outlined various potential partnership scenarios during a meeting with the hospital and Indian River County Hospital District boards Aug. 23. The district owns the facility and leases the space to IRMC.
Hospital officials hired Chicago-based healthcare advisory firm Juniper Advisory to assist in the partnership search last month. Advisors anticipate sending partnership inquiries to at least 30 health systems nationwide. Interested parties would need to submit proposals by late October, with IRMC officials selecting the finalists by Nov. 1.
If the timetable continues as planned, officials said the hospital and its yet-to-be-determined partner would have a signed draft of a proposed partnership agreement in place by May 31, the report states.
The proposed deal would need to be approved by the hospital board and district board of trustees. State and federal regulatory approval may also be required depending on the type of partnership.
