The council will officially consider RGHS and Unity’s certificate of need application April 10, according to the report. The health systems are also awaiting approval from the Federal Trade Commission.
Rochester General and Unity initially entered merger talks last April, and the two systems’ boards signed a merger agreement this past September. Under their proposed agreement, a single parent company will oversee the direction of Rochester General, Unity and all of their affiliates. The new organization will governed by a board of directors with equal representation from both Rochester General and Unity.
