Fresenius Medical to acquire NxStage Medical for $2B

Fresenius Medical Care, a German medical supply producer, inked an agreement to acquire Lawrence, Mass.-based NxStage Medical, a producer of medical products for dialysis patients.

Fresenius Medical will acquire all of NxStage’s outstanding shares valued a $30 per share, or about $2 billion.

NxStage’s board approved the transaction. The deal is subject to approval from NxStage stockholders, regulatory approvals and additional closing conditions.

Fresenius projects the transaction will close in 2018.
