Emory, DeKalb Medical integration clears final hurdle

The Georgia Attorney General’s Office approved the integration of Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare and DeKalb Medical, the Decatur, Ga.-based health system announced Aug. 8.

The attorney general’s approval was the final hurdle in the organizations’ partnership deal.

Officials said DeKalb Medical will integrate into Emory Healthcare Sept. 1.

The organizations revealed plans to partner in November 2017.
