The partnership is designed to bring world-class pediatric cardiac surgery care to the West Texas region.
“We went through very deliberate actions of choosing a partner to bring the very best pediatric cardiac surgery care to this region, and chose Texas Children’s Hospital because of their undeniable quality,” Chris Dougherty, CEO of Covenant Children’s Hospital, said during a news conference Thursday morning at Covenant.
According to the report, work has already begun at Covenant Children’s Hospital with Texas Children’s Hospital. So far, a few patients have been selected to undergo cardiac surgeries at the Lubbock hospital, performed by surgeons from Texas Children’s.
