Commonwealth Health Corp., the parent company of The Medical Center, unveiled plans to acquire the 42-bed nonprofit Clinton County Hospital in October. Once the acquisition is complete, the hospital will be renamed The Medical Center at Albany. Eric Hagan, vice president of Commonwealth health Corp., will serve as interim administrator.
Including Clinton County Hospital, Commonwealth Health Corp. now operates six acute care hospitals in southcentral Kentucky. It employs more than 3,400 healthcare workers with a medical staff that includes more than 350 physicians.
