Clark Memorial and Norton initially signed a letter of intent and began exploring a potential partnership nearly two years ago. During that time, board members and senior leaders from both organizations have been involved in an extensive evaluation of possible partnership approaches and the possible impact on patients, physicians and team members. Officials have not specified an expected date of completion for the transaction. Martin Padgett, president and CEO of Clark Memorial, said the two organizations have “focused on being thorough and doing this right, not just quickly.”
“Based on this analysis, we believe the right solution for our organization and for Clark County is to fully join the Norton system and that by doing so we will succeed in securing and advancing local healthcare in Clark County for years to come,” he said.
