Single specialty and multi-specialty groups were the top two highest-paying settings for physicians, followed by hospitals, Doximity found.
Doximity, a digital platform for U.S. medical professionals, released its 2026 Physician Compensation Report Aug. 25. The report surveyed physicians in June on how AI is changing physician careers and pay, and included salary data from the platform’s dataset of nearly 23,000 responses collected in 2025, according to a company news release.
Among settings, solo practice had the largest drop in compensation year-over-year at -3.8%, while urgent care centers had the highest growth for the second year in a row, the report said.
