After a period of negotiation and due diligence, if a final affiliation agreement is reached, Union Hospital and its affiliates will become part of Christiana Care Health System, a nonprofit organization that includes two hospitals, home health care, medical aid units and a network of outpatient services. Christiana Care is also a teaching health system with more than 260 residents and fellows.
Union Hospital is a full-service community hospital with 72 licensed beds, 1,300 staff members and 375 physicians.

Nevin, MD, Christiana Care Health System’s president and CEO. “We welcome this opportunity to explore a closer relationship with an organization that shares our commitment to value and service to the community.”
