Brunswick-based Mid Coast-Parkview Health announced June 17 its intent to merge with Portland-based MaineHealth.
The board of directors at both organizations approved the merger last week. The process started in February, when Mid Coast-Parkview established a committee to evaluate the risks and benefits of an integration.
Mid Coast-Parkview and MaineHealth have been clinically affiliated for more than 25 years.
