Currently, Sisters of Charity Hospital, Mercy Hospital of Buffalo and Kenmore Mercy, operate separately. The merger will streamline services and improve efficiencies, minimize duplication and improve clinical performance, according to the report.
CHS recently received a $7 million state grant toward the merger as part of the $436 million distributed through the Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law of New York State. CHS received a total of $68 million from the program, $7 million of which will go toward the grant, according to the report.
The merger is expected to take two years to complete.
