Here are four things to know about the agreement.
1. Under the agreement, Southeastern Health will be able to access various CHS resources.
2. The agreement will focus on strategic services, including participation in CHS operational and clinical best practice collaboratives, as well as membership in the CHS group purchasing organization, Carolinas Shared Services, according to a news release. CHS will also support and host Southeastern Health’s installation of the Epic EMR platform.
3. Both parties will preserve their respective local governance and ownership.
4. “We are confident in choosing Carolinas HealthCare System as our partner …and we look forward to realizing the benefits of this relationship for our patients,” Joann Anderson, president and CEO of Southeastern Health, said in a prepared statement. “As a rural community health system, we are excited about the resources, expertise and cost-savings this agreement will bring, as well as a successful EMR implementation.”
