Marriottsville, Md.-based Bon Secours has doubled its urgent care footprint in Virginia following the integration of 12 former MedExpress urgent care centers, according to a May 28 news release shared with Becker’s.
The locations, acquired in March 2025, now operate under the Bon Secours Urgent Care brand and are part of the health system’s broader ambulatory care strategy.
With the expansion, Bon Secours now operates 24 urgent care centers across Virginia, including 11 in Richmond, one in Hampton Roads and 12 across western Virginia.
The health system said it invested in facility upgrades and operational integration over the past year to incorporate the centers into its ambulatory network and connect urgent care services more tightly with primary care providers, specialists and hospitals.
“Integrating these urgent care centers into the Bon Secours ministry allows us to strengthen the level of care provided in these communities by bringing in trusted, up-to-date and compassionate medicine,” Carlton Stadler, MD, regional medical director for Bon Secours Urgent Care in Virginia, said in the release.
The western Virginia locations serve communities including Charlottesville, Christiansburg, Culpeper, Danville, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Martinsville, Roanoke, Staunton and Winchester.
