AU Health, Philips roll out advanced life support monitors

Augusta (Ga.) University Health unveiled a series of advanced life support monitors and defibrillators as part of its alliance with Amsterdam-based healthcare technology company Philips, according to Parent Herald.

AU executives upgraded to Philips automated external defibrillators as a way to centralize and standardize medical technology across the health system.

The new Philips HeartStart defibrillators and AEDs include a standardized, intuitive interface that is easily accessible to ordinary and trained responders alike, according to the report.

The new AEDs are also designed to treat infants and children.

AU Health and Philips's partnership began in 2013. The organizations entered into a 15-year, $300 million agreement to deliver more effective, cost-efficient healthcare.
